In 2002, the farm began experimenting with new coffee varieties such as Catuaà and Icatu, while continuing to cultivate the existing Bourbon and TÃpica varieties. Additionally, it transitioned to organic agriculture with support from COMSA.
Through years of experience, the farm has developed the expertise to process coffee on-site with facilities including a drying patio and solar dryers. In recent years, the farm has processed natural, washed, and honey coffees, achieving scores of up to 90 points.
In 2024, Finca Azul Esmeralda won first place in the Golden Cup award for their Gesha variety, competing against farmers across Latin America.
